09.09.2020 - 13.09.2020 8th Joint Meeting of the Committees for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ACTRIMS-ECTRIMS)

The Americas Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ACTRIMS) and European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS) joint meeting is being held virtually this year under the name MSVirtual2020. This exciting triennial joint meeting will feature top MS experts from all over the world and provide cutting-edge knowledge about research and therapies focused solely on MS. The scientific program committee is co-chaired by Dr. Benjamin Segal (Ohio State University, USA) and Dr. Maria Pia Amato (University of Florence, Italy).

In 2017, Neurologybytes covered the last ECTRIMS-ACTRIMS joint meeting and reported on exciting sessions about MS treatment, diagnosis, therapeutic advancements, diet, microbiome, and more. In addition, a Teva-sponsored symposium at ECTRIMS-ACTRIMS 2017 about patient disability associated with MS was extensively reported here. Since then, coverage on the annual ECTRIMS meetings have continued, of which the latest included sessions on retinal biomarkers and epigenetics of MS, as well as MS and cardiovascular comorbidities from ECTRIMS 2019.

This year, the program will feature plenary sessions, teaching courses, sessions dedicated for young investigators, sessions for nurses and poster sessions. In addition, sessions such as the “Brain Exchange Chat Rooms” will facilitate interaction between attendees during the virtual event. The MSVirtual2020 encore on September 26 will feature a latest news session, a special session on COVID-19, and the opportunity for attendees to network.
